Building Global Cities:Shanghai and Sydney

The Confucius Institute and the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning will present an international symposium on Building Global Cities: Shanghai and Sydney on Thursday 19 November.

The symposium will gather acholars and practitioners from Australia, China, New Zealand and the UK to discuss urban development in Shanghai and Sydney in the age of globalisation and provide a forum for academics and professionals to exchange the latest research and innovative development at a local and global level.

The City of Sydney's Stratey Director, Alan Cadogan, will deliver a keynote speech on the City of Sydney's 2030 Vision. Professor Huang Changyong, Director of the institute of Cultural Industries, Tongji University, Shanghai, will also give an address on the Shanghai World Expo 2010 and Configuration of New Cultural Spaces.
