ICT for Africa 2008 Conference in Cameroon, December 2008

Dr Boris Handal presented at the ICT FOR AFRICA 2008 CONFERENCE held in Cameroon 18-21 December 2008. The research was prepared with Dr Catherine Groenlund and Dr Tania Gerzina.

Dr Boris Handal recently presented on students and staff use and perceptions of learning management systems in tertiary education. The presentation took place at the Africa 2008 ICT conference held in Yaounde, Cameroon, from 18 to 21 December 2008. The event was organised by the US-based International Center for Information Technology and Development of Louisiana University.


His presentation reported ongoing research conducted along with Dr Catherine Groenlund and Dr Tania Gerzina from the Faculty of dentistry which is informing eLearning developments in tertiary learning environments. The feedback was very positive with one participating writing: I will like to exercise justice to my conscience and say a big a thank you as I left the seminar well equipped with the basics of Information Technology.
During his trip to Cameroon Dr Handal also conducted teacher training seminars in two schools in the cities of Limbe and Bamenda as well as meeting educational authorities of the region.
