A life serving the community

After surviving the Nazi occupation in Europe and the Japanese Occupation in Shanghai, Dr Peter Sapir was very fortunate in coming to Australia. After graduating in Melbourne, Dr Sapir practiced in England, Melbourne and Sydney giving him a wide experience in clinical dentistry. For twenty years, he has served as a Councilor of the NSW branch of the Australian Dental Association and well as a chair of various committees. Likewise, Dr Sapir has been involved over many years in marketing the dental profession annually at the Sydney Home Show. Other meritorious services to the wider community include being Treasurer and President of the Eastern Suburbs Dental Group and Honorary Dentist for the Sydney City Roosters where he acquired excellent experience in sports injury. He is serving as Treasurer of the Doctors Health Advisory Service which advises doctors, veterinarians and dentists in relation to drug and alcohol problems, stress and mental illness, or personal and financial difficulties. Dr Sapir is known by his students as a dedicated and experienced clinical educator with strong commitment to quality dental education at the Faculty of Dentistry of Sydney University.
