Praising the Calibre of our Dentistry Graduates

24 November 2011

Former Associate Dean (Curriculum) & Head of the USYDMP, DR Tessa Ho , praises the calibre of our Dentistry Graduates.

Long associated with educating our BDent students, Dr Ho had the occasion to write to the Dean lauding the quality of treatment received at the hands of 2007 graduate, Dr Jesse Wright.

Dr Ho writes:

Dear Chris,

I thought of sharing my great joy in meeting a former student of ours - Jesse Wright - who graduated two years ago and whom I worked closely when he was the President of the Sydney University Dentistry Students Association SUDUA. You may recall, I made a point of having joint regular meetings with the Presidents of MedSoc and SUDUA - it was one of the great pleasures of my working life there.

Jesse has commenced practice ... near our home ... and treated my youngest son last Thursday.

I cannot express adequately the deep sense of satisfaction I felt when I met Jesse after the consultation - he is clearly confident, well trained and very happy in his work. It was such a pleasure to hear him speak of his ambitions to further his studies in facio maxillary surgery but is keen to maintain the community based dental practice.

It made me so very happy - this is, at the end of the day, what it is all about.

So congratulations to you and your wonderful colleagues - this fruit of your labour is certainly the result of your commitment and energy.

With warm regards
