Faculty Laureate presents to state leaders
18 March 2011
Faculty Laureate Fellow Professor Peter Goodyear will present a Research Colloquium to the state's Department of Education and Training (NSW DET) in April.
In a talk titled "Enhancing Learning with Technology", Peter will discuss his research into ways of analysing and improving the increasingly complex systems in which learning takes place, especially those where computer technology plays a strong part. The first ever Laureate Fellow awarded in the field of Education and Co-Director of the Centre for Research on Computer Supported Learning and Cognition, Peter's research focuses on networked learning, where people learn through collaboration that is wholly or partially online.
The DET Research Colloquium is held once per school term and provides a forum to discuss and debate education research issues as well as disseminating research so that findings can better inform policy and practice. Max Smith, Senior Manager of Student Engagement and Program Evaluation at DET, describes Peter's colloquium as a "unique opportunity to engage with a truly world class researcher in the burgeoning field of learning technology and design".
