The Faculty of Education and Social Work invites applications for the award of the Thomas and Ethel Mary Ewing Postdoctoral Scholarship in Education for 2017.

The Scholarships were established in 1964 by a bequest from Dr Thomas Ewing and on this occasion are to be awarded to enable postdoctoral scholars to conduct full time research and teaching in the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Persons eligible to apply for the Award of the Scholarship must be PhD graduates of the University of Sydney in the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Preference will be given to candidates who have held doctoral degrees for no more than five years.
Up to one Scholarship may be awarded in 2017.

The Scholarship will be available from January 2017 and should be commenced immediately, with the commencement of the academic year of 2017.

The stipend will be the current base salary for Level A, step 6 $87,732.00 and the approximate package is $103,827.44 (includes 17% superannuation as the contract is 12 months, and annual leave loading which is 17.5% of 4 weeks' pay).

There will be no provision for additional allowances.

Scholars are required to provide a final report on their research/teaching work and details of their intended research in the following year to the Scholarship Officer, Rosina Gallace (details below).

2. A list of publications (clearly distinguishing between full publications and abstracts of papers presented at conferences);
3. An outline of the proposed research project in no more than two pages; and
4. Two referee reports
