Today’s announcement that the University is ranked 9th in the world for Education and amongst the world’s best in the latest QS World University Rankings has been welcomed by the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Professor Diane Mayer, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Work, believes that the ranking confirms the Faculty's continuing strength in Education. This year, Education is the University of Sydney’s best ranking and internationally we are ranked just below UCLA but higher than UC Berkeley and Colombia (Teachers College). This reflects the significant international and national impact of our research as well as our reputation with employers and within the academic community.

These rankings are the result of excellence in research and learning and teaching programs over time and an outstanding reflection of the talent, dedication and collegiality of the Faculty and the hard work put in by everyone. Being consistently ranked in the top ten in the world is something the faculty can be justifiably proud of.

The QS rankings, established in 2011 and now in its fifth edition, are based on expert opinions sought from over 80,000 academics from institutions around the world and include the reputation of academics, staff, student/staff ratio, statistics on citation and the international mix.
