On boards for scholarly research journals
17 November 2011
Faculty professor and co-director of CoCo, Professor Michael Jacobson has been invited to join the editorial boards of two of the top peer-reviewed journals in the field of the learning sciences and technology and educational research: International Journal of Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (ijCSCL) and Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D).
ijCSCL is published by Springer for the International Society of the Learning Sciences with the aim of promoting a deeper understanding of the nature, theory and practice of the uses of computer-supported collaborative learning. It was founded in 2006 by the International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS), which is a sponsor of the 10th annual International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS 2012), being hosted by the University of Sydney next July.
ETR&D is the bi-monthly publication of the Association for Educational Communications & Technology. Professor Jacobson will join the six-member board of the ETR&D Research Section, along with Professor Roger Azevedo at McGill University. ETR&D is the only scholarly journal that focuses exclusively on research and development in educational technology.
In addition to his roles with CoCo and the Faculty of Education and Social Work, Professor Jacobson is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the Learning Sciences and deputy director of the Institute for Innovation in Science and Mathematics Education.
