Professor honoured by Children's Book Council

Robyn Ewing, Professor of Teacher Education and the Arts, and an alumna of the Faculty of Education and Social Work, has been invited to deliver the prestigious Maurice Saxby Lecture for the Children's Book Council of Australia, NSW (CBC).

The CBC is sponsoring the public lecture as a major National Year of Reading event at the State Library of New South Wales.

Professor Ewing will be presenting on Tuesday, May 1, at 6.30pm. The lecture was initiated to recognise Dr Maurice Saxby AM who was the first National President of the CBC and his ongoing his contribution to the organisation.

Saxby, also an alumnus of the faculty, is recognised internationally as an authority on children's literature. His multivolume History of Australian Children's Literature is the standard reference work in the field.
