The world of English teaching - Jack C. Richards lecture series

This lecture is the second in a series of three public presentations hosted by the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Research Network. The theme of the series, which will be presented by Professor Jack C. Richards is "The Worlds of English". In this lecture, Professor Richards will discuss approaches and issues in the teaching of English. In the next lecture in the series, he lectures will address the nature of competence and professionalism from the point of view of people who teach English.

Professor Jack C. Richards is an honorary professor in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney. He is an internationally renowned applied linguist, teacher-educator, and author. A specialist in TESOL who has had an active career in the Asia-Pacific, Professor Richards has written many books and articles on language teaching methodology and teacher training, as well as widely used classroom texts including the best selling series, Interchange.
