Last chance to nominate your outstanding teachers
23 September 2010
Each year Faculty of Health Sciences' students are invited to nominate staff members who in their opinion are outstanding teachers. The Faculty encourages all students to think about what constitutes outstanding teaching, and to nominate one staff member who in their opinion reflects these qualities.
Student Nominated Teaching Awards
This award also provides a further avenue for students to give feedback on learning and teaching, and will help to identify staff who may be eligible to apply for other Faculty of Health Sciences Learning and Teaching Awards.
To nominate a staff member for this award, please complete the online nomination form.
The four teachers with the highest number of nominations will be requested to write a one page summary using the two criteria listed below to explain their teaching success:
- Approach to student learning (e.g. pedagogical framework, philosophy of teaching, techniques for student engagement)
- Tips and techniques (e.g. is there a particular technique, technology, or process that you have implemented and found particularly beneficial to students)
A recommendation for the award will be made by the Associate Deans Learning & Teaching and a sub-committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences Learning and Teaching Committee. An award certificate will be presented to the successful staff member at the FHS Awards Ceremony.
We appreciate you taking the time to nominate.
