31 March 2011
The 'Wobbly Hub and Double Spokes' project is a NHMRC 'Partnerships for Better Health' project headed up by Professor Craig Veitch, Chair of Community Based Health Care at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Scott Griffiths, Regional Director of Ageing, Disability and Home Care in the Western Region of NSW. The project was conceived within the context of enhanced government funding for the provision of therapy services and the ongoing difficulties in recruiting and retaining therapists to work in rural and remote areas. The project is exploring the current issues around the delivery of therapy services in Western NSW. The aim of the project is to develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based policies which will promote timely and effective therapy service delivery to people with a disability living in rural and remote communities.
A newsletter detailing progress on the implementation of the four year project is being produced quarterly with the first edition is now avaliable online.
