In 2011 the University of Sydney team came second in the national competition in Queensland. This year four teams were made up of competing students from Nursing, Exercise and Sport Science, Occupational Therapy, Orthoptics, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Counselling and Speech Pathology disciplines.
Each team presented their case management plan relating to a Vietnamese patient called 'Anh', a 55 year old female inpatient at a major Sydney rehabilitation hospital. The multidisciplinary team were tasked with developing a comprehensive plan for Anh during her rehabilitative phase.
The judges remarked on the calibre of the presentations and congratulated all teams on their hard work before declaring Dynamic Paracetamols (Team 3) as the winning team (who have now qualified to participate in the National HealthFusion Team Challenge in Queensland on 31 August, 2012). The members of the winning team are Vu Do (Master of Orthoptics), Alison Rodrigues (Speech Pathology), Morgan Snow (Nursing) and Edward Yip (Physiotherapy).
The Health Care Team Challenge management team would like to thank the following:
