ICT is protecting against the Heartbleed Bug

14 April 2014

You may have recently heard about the 'Heartbleed Bug' which received extensive media coverage lately. This was a widespread security vulnerability which allowed attackers to obtain sensitive information from secure website communications. ICT quickly and decisively addressed this vulnerability last week, by proactively patching its internet systems and authentication servers, with other systems to be patched over the coming days.

There is no evidence that sensitive information was exposed by the Heartbleed Bug, but we will continue to monitor the situation. In the meantime, you can safely visit any portals that require UniKey credentials. You also do not need to change your UniKey password, although we encourage you to do so regularly.
