ICT has simplified the VPN service

21 May 2014

To make the University's virtual private network (VPN) easier to connect to, ICT has simplified the setup procedure. From now on whenever you require a VPN connection, instead of choosing from three profiles you select the Sydney_University_VPN profile and log in with your UniKey and password.

A VPN connection is only necessary if you are outside campus but need to access specific University-held file servers or databases. For most other situations, however, you no longer require a VPN connection; services such as SharePoint and Exchange can now be accessed online using your UniKey credentials. When on campus you only need to connect to the UniSydney network using your UniKey and password.
