UniServe Science/IISME Conference 2010 set for September

29 September 2010 to 1 October 2010

The 2010 UniServe Science/IISME Conference will be held from Wednesday 29th September to Friday 1st October.

The theme for the conference is Creating ACTIVE minds in our Science and Mathematics students. The conference will encompass the following broad themes for tertiary educators.

Authentic learning
Collaborative learning
Teaching in laboratories
Inquiry and Innovation
Virtual learning
Engaging educators.

We invite submissions from tertiary science and mathematics educators and students. Further details will be added to this site as they become available.

Important dates

The following are the key dates for the conference and submission of abstracts and papers.

This year all submissions will be via an online system and more details will be posted in coming weeks.

Social functions

The conference this year will include two social functions

  • Welcome reception: This will be held on Wednesday evening and the cost will be included in the registration fee for delegates. Additional tickets can be purchased for $50 each. Details are currently being finalised and will appear here when available
  • Conference dinner: This will be an optional event held on Thursday evening and the cost will be $70 per person. This is an additional cost to the registration fee. This year we have opted for a slightly more formal occasion which will be in a private room at a venue still to be finalised.
