IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law: Ben Boer appointed as Deputy Chair

|During the recent World Conservation Congress of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, in Jeju, South Korea, Justice Antonio Herman Benjamin of the Supreme Court of Brazil and Professor of Law at the Catholic University of Brasilia, was elected as Chair of World Commission on Environmental Law, and Emeritus Professor Ben Boer was appointed by the IUCN Council as Deputy Chair of the Commission.|
These positions are for four years.
The Commission comprises some 800 environmental lawyers from around the world, tasked with advancing environmental sustainability through the development of legal and policy concepts and instruments, and through building the capacity of countries and communities to develop and implement environmental law and policy.
Several members of the Australian Centre for Climate and Environmental Law are members of the World Commission on Environmental Law.
