Sydney Law School graduate wins Alumni Award

Daniel Ward, BA (Adv) (Hons) '09, LLB '13, was awarded the University of Sydney's Convocation Medal for Graduate Achievement at the Alumni Awards ceremony in the Grand Hall on Friday 27 September 2013. He is the 12th graduate of the Law School to receive a University Alumni Award and joins truly illustrious company as the 2013 Medal recipient.
Daniel was awarded the Medal for his important contribution to the University and the wider community. During his time at the University of Sydney, Daniel earned numerous academic prizes, including the prestigious University Medal in both Arts and Law. His impressive contribution to student life throughout his studies included editing the Sydney Law Review, tutoring and mentoring up to 40 students at St Paul's College in law and winning law moots in contracts, torts and constitutional law.
Daniel's activities within the community were also recognised as a significant part of the Convocation Medal. In particular, his volunteer work at the Redfern Legal Centre and at New York City's Unemployment Action Centre during a student exchange to New York Law School.
The Law School congratulates Daniel on being awarded this medal for his demonstrated strong leadership and enrichment of the diverse life of the University of Sydney.
