Alumnus Appointed Supreme Court Judge & Inaugural President of NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal

Attorney General Greg Smith, SC announced Mr Robertson Wright, SC, alumnus of the Sydney Law School, has been appointed Supreme Court judge and inaugural President of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Mr Wright (BA 1978, LLB 1980) graduated with first-class honours for both degrees and went on to study a Bachelor of Laws (post-graduate honours) at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 1981. He was admitted to the bar in May 1983 and has been a Senior Counsel since 2001. During the 90's, Mr Wright also taught Equity at the Sydney Law School.
Having served as a Judicial Member of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal (ADT) since 2007, Mr Wright has presided over a range of matters including disciplinary hearings for legal practitioners and cases involving breaches of discrimination law. He will be sworn in as a Supreme Court judge on 25 November 2013 and will also commence his five-year term as NCAT President on the same day.
