Sydney Law School student receives internship at the Australian Mission to the UN

Christine Ernst, a fourth year Economic and Social Sciences/Law student, has been selected for the internship at the Australian Mission to the United Nations in New York.
The internship takes place during the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled between September and December 2008.
Christine is one of three candidates selected from across Australia.
The role entails advocating Australia's interests at the UN.
Specific duties include:
- Assisting with policy work on the UNGA Second Committee (economic, environment, humanitarian and international development)
- Assisting with policy work on the UNGA Sixth Committee (legal issues)
- Assisting with policy work on UN Development Boards
"I am thrilled to be taking up the opportunity to engage with the United Nations at a time when international co-operation has never been more important," Christine said.
"I look forward to exploring the workings of the international legal system from up close."
