Sydney Law School student wins 2009 NSW Rhodes Scholarship

For the  fifth year in succession, a Sydney Law School student has won the New South Wales Rhodes Scholarship.

The Sydney Law School would like to congratulate Natasha Simonsen (BEcSocSci '07, LLB '08) on winning the 2009 NSW Rhodes Scholarship.

 Among her many achievements, Natasha was a member of  Sydney Law School's World Champion Jessup Moot Team of 2007.

Natasha's success in the NSW Rhodes Scholarship follows that of Joanna Mascarenhas (BEcoSocSci '04, LLB '08)  in  2007,  Kate Brennan (BA '05, LLB '07) in 2006, Jonathan Bonnitcha (B Ec '03, LLB '06) in 2005 and Sandy Cameron (LLB '04) in 2004.

Sydney Law School won all three available Rhodes Scholarships in 2006, including the NSW and two Australia-at-large Scholarships, a feat unmatched by any other Law School.

A Sydney Law School student is still in the running to win a 2009 Australia-at-large Scholarship, with current final year student Nikolas Kirby (BA '07) on the shortlist as one of the two remaining students from New South Wales.
