Sydney Law School student wins Australia-at-large Rhodes Scholarship
4 December 2008
Sydney Law School would like to congratulate current final year law student Nikolas Kirby (BA '07) on winning the 2009 Australia-at-large Rhodes Scholarship.
Nikolas' success follows that of Natasha Simonsen (BEcSocSci '07, LLB '08), who won the 2009 New South Wales Rhodes Scholarship in October recently.
"Graduates of this Law School, including some famous ones, have done particularly well in winning the Rhodes Scholarship," said the Dean, Professor Gillian Triggs.
"But it is in recent times that our students have really shone.
"Nikolas is in fact the tenth Sydney Law School student to receive a Rhodes Scholarship this century; a Sydney Law School student has won the scholarship for the last 5 years in a row.
"This is a remarkable achievement and is a great reflection on the qualities, dedication and strengths that our students have brought to the Law School and the wider community."Read the article on the University of Sydney News site.
