Sydney Law School alumnus, Madura Wijewardena (BEc 1995, LLB 1997) is profiled in today's Sydney Morning Herald in relation to his role in the campaign for American President-Elect, Barack Obama.

Madura became the part-time assistant to the Illinois director of Get Out The Vote operations in June 2007 and remained with the campaign throughout.

Mr Wijewardena's other part-time job, working for a consulting firm that specialised in demographic analysis of Latino communities, dovetailed neatly with his role in the Obama campaign.
