Investor Class Actions Conference
3 March 2009
Investor Class Actions is a conference that takes place on Tuesday, 10th March 2009, organised by the Federal Court of Australia in conjunction with the Ross Parsons Centre of Commercial, Corporate and Taxation Law and the Law Council of Australia.
Almost every day, the financial press reports something about class actions that have been launched or are expected. In the current economic climate, many investors, large and small, have lost a lot of money. Often, sometimes at the instigation of a litigation funder, they identify someone to sue, and join forces through a class action against their target.
In this conference highly qualified speakers will explore and explain the current issues touching investor class actions. The conference will assist all those involved in bringing and defending such proceedings.
The conference will be held simultaneously in Sydney and Melbourne, with interactive video links between both .
Those attending in Sydney will be the first persons to use the Federal Court's new large court-room for commercial litigation on Level 18 of the Law Courts building.
