Should freedom of expression include the licence to offend?

Dr Fleur Johns spoke at the recent Intelligence Squared Australia debate on freedom of expression, which took place at the City Recital Hall in Sydney.

The topic was Freedom of expression must include the licence to offend.

Dr Johns spoke for the team against, alongside Donald McDonald AC and David Knoll.

The team for consisted of Janet Albrechtsen, David Marr and Reverend Peter Jensen.

Associate Professor Anne Twomey is scheduled to speak at the next debate, entitled It's time to get rid of State Government.
