Reproduction and the Law

Professor Belinda Bennett provides a critical analysis of the legal issues relating to reproduction in this second semester intensive Health and Medical Law unit.

Reproduction and the Law examines the regulation of reproductive rights in contemporary society and incorporates topics such as civil liability for prenatal injury; wrongful birth and wrongful life; abortion;the rights of the foetus; sterilisation and intellectual disability; assisted reproductive technology; eligibility for regulation of stem cell research and cloning technologies andpreimplantation genetic diagnosis.

The unit is available to study through the following Sydney Law School degree programmes:
