2009 McWilliam Visiting Professor in Commercial Law

Sydney Law School is pleased to announce the visit of Professor Deborah DeMott, Duke University to Sydney Law School as the 2009 McWilliam Visiting Professor in Commercial Law.
The visit is sponsored by a generous donation from Bruce McWilliam, an alumnus of Sydney Law School.
Professor DeMott is the David F. Cavers Professor of Law at Duke University. Prof DeMott's research interests include art law, corporate law, takeovers and acquisitions, fiduciary obligation and tort law and she has published widely in these areas. Professor DeMott has also taught at the Universities of Melbourne, Texas, Colorado, San Diego, the Hastings College of Law of the University of California, and at York University, Toronto.
While Professor DeMott is visiting Sydney Law School she will teach a postgraduate intensive unit Dealing in Art & Cultural Heritage.
Professor DeMott will also present a seminar as part of the 2009 Distinguished Speakers Program on Tuesday, 1 September 2009, 5.30-7.00pm titled Legal Perspectives on Dealing with Art and Objects of Cultural Heritage: Agency Relationships in Art Worlds
