11 Rhodes Scholars in ten years

Sydney Law School would like to congratulate Andreas Heger (BA '06, LLB '08) on winning the 2010 Rhodes Australia-At-Large Scholarship, making him the 11th Rhodes Scholar from the Sydney Law School in a ten year period.
Andreas is currently working for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Canberra and has previously volunteered with the NSW Disability Discrimination Legal Centre, the NSW Public Defenders Office and the Aboriginal Legal Service.
He has been heavily involved in adaptive rowing and held a scholarship with the Australian Capital Territory Academy of Sport for 2008-09.
He also trains in athletics. At Oxford he intends to continue his sport and hopes to represent Australia at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. Andreas is legally blind.
Andreas will enrol in the Bachelor of Civil Laws and Masters in Philosophy in law at Oxford and will focus on aspects of anti-discrimination law and positive obligations.
