The 2010 General Sir John Monash Awards

Congratulations to Zelie Wood (BA '06, LLB '08) on receiving a General Sir John Monash Award for 2010.

A Joint University Medallist in Law in 2008, Zelie is currently an associate to the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, The Hon. Justice Robert French and was formerly an associate to the Chief Justice of the Federal Court, The Hon Justice Michael Black AC, QC.

In 2009 she worked on the report of the National Human Rights Consultation Committee.

Zelie was part of the Sydney Law School team that won the world championships of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot in 2007.

She intends to pursue an LLM followed by a D.Phil., focussing on international and human rights law at Cambridge University.

The General John Monash Awards are awarded annually to a maximum of eight recent graduates from Australian Universities to undertake postgraduate study overseas.

It is valued up to $150,000 over three years.
