Alumna wins prestigious scholarship to study in New York

9 March 2010

Congratulations to Emma Dunlop (BA 2007, LLB 2009) on winning a Hugo Grotius Scholarship to enable her to study an LLM in international legal studies at New York University (NYU) School of Law.

Each year the Committee on Graduate Admissions at New York University awards a limited number of Hugo Grotius Scholarships to those who will study in New York City.

These scholarships are full-tuition awards and are awarded to outstanding candidates for LLM degree studies.

These merit-based awards are given to a select group of extraordinarily talented LLM candidates who have demonstrated academic promise and/or achievement in their respective field(s) of interest.

The Grotius Scholarships are designated for students who wish to specialise in International Legal Studies in New York City.

"I am thrilled to have received this honour, and deeply grateful for the support I received from Sydney Law School," said Emma.

"I would like also to express my thanks for all the opportunities I have had at Sydney Law School, in particular for the exchange program which enabled me to attend NYU for one semester in 2009.

"The exchange program is such a tremendous opportunity for students and I feel immensely privileged to be returning to NYU as a masters-level student."
