Alumnus elected the new president of Tennis Australia

19 April 2010

Sydney Law School extends its congratulations to Stephen Healy (BEc 1980, LLB 1982) on his election as President of Tennis Australia.

Stephen won a tight ballot today from another the high-profile long-time former Australian Open tournament director Paul McNamee.

He will take up the post in October from the retiring Geoff Pollard who has held the position since 1989.

"I am excited about the appointing and leading tennis in Australia," Healy said.

"There are many challenges and issues that need to be addressed if we are to appeal more to the community and if we are to produce champions.

"The answer lies in working together, being flexible, inclusive and willing to think laterally."

Stephen is also a Partner in the Sydney Office of Gadens Lawyers.
