Don't cry over WikiLeaks

Associate Professor Ben Saul writes that the Australian Government should be questioning the US Government on potential misconduct rather than pursue WikiLeaks.

In an opinion piece in the The Age, Associate Professor Saul discusses whether Julian Assange or WikiLeaks has broken Australian law. He suggests there is no need to modify Australian law to criminalise WikiLeaks. He argues these are matters of global public interest.

"The leaks reveal that some information over which governments claim confidentiality is genuinely in the public interest", he said.
