Professor Mary Crock commented on the High Court injunction to prevent the deportation of more than 100 asylum-seekers to Malaysia.

In an interview with The Australian, Professor Crock said despite the injunction, the government would most likely defeat the legal assault, describing it as being on"pretty solid ground".
"There's never been a case where the High Court has held that the government doesn't have the power to exercise its major immigration functions," she said.
"You're not going to be able to stop it in the longer term, but what they might be able to do is get some interim relief by attacking the way they're making questions."
