The Dean, Professor Gillian Triggs says the High Court decision to block the Government's Malaysian solution on asylum seekers is a very significant ruling.

Speaking to ABC Radio Current Affairs' PM Program, she says the decision is an important commitment by the High Court to the basic principles of international law.
"It's very significant that the majority of a court has been so determined that a country to which asylum seekers will be sent must meet international law and international law standards that apply to the rights of asylum seekers to proper procedures."
