Sydney Law School mourns the death of Mahla Pearlman AO (BA 1957, LLB 1960), first female president of the Law Society of NSW (1981-1982) and former chief judge of the Land and Environment Court (1992-2003).

Her other achievements included:

• First woman President of the Law Council of Australia (1989-1990).
• Deputy Secretary-General of the International Bar Association (1988-1992).
• Chairman of the Board of Governors of the College of Law (1983-1988).

A funeral will be held this Sunday, 4 December 2011 at 10.30am at the Sydney Chevra Kadisha, 172 Oxford Street, Woollahra.
