Alumnus creates online sensation during U.S. Presidential debate

22 March 2012

Alumnus, Hugh Atkin (BA 2006, 2008 LLB) recently posted a Mitt Romney Parody on YouTube and within two days it received up to one million hits.

Entitled "Will the real Mitt Romney stand up?", it is a collection of footage parodying the song "The Real Slim Shady" by recording artist, Eminem.

Hugh is currently studying at Oxford as the Law School's Justice Peter Hely Scholar.

In a recent interview with The Chicago Tribune, he said he was thrilled with the reaction to the video.

"I had hoped that the video would go viral," he said, "but I wasn't certain that it would and I definitely didn't expect it to take off as quickly as it did."
