Mr. John Bronger honoured in Australia Day 2011 Honours List

Mr John Bronger, Director of the Chemist Works group of pharmacies and member of the Dean's Community Pharmacy Reference group has been honoured in the Australia Day 2011 Honours List.
Mr Bronger received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for "service to the pharmaceutical industry through roles with professional organisations."
Congratulating Mr Bronger, Professor Iqbal Ramzan, Dean of Pharmacy, said "The Faculty of Pharmacy has benefited hugely from John's generosity and expertise over the years."
"He was a major donor to the Faculty of Pharmacy Building Establishment Fund, and has served as Adjunct Professor in Pharmacy Management at the Faculty in recent years. He has also been a strong contributor to Faculty fundraising activities to benefit pharmacy research initiatives."
"We are delighted to see his work acknowledged in this way, and on behalf of the Faculty I extend our warm congratulations to him on this special achievement."
Mr Bronger held the role of president of the NSW Pharmacy Guild for five years, before serving as national president for another 11. He has been a proprietor of community pharmacies for over 30 years. Other notable appointments during his career include Director of the National Return and Disposal of Unwanted medicines, member of the Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Committee, board member of Gold Cross Products advisory committee, member of the Board of Taxation (2000 - 2005), member of Change Agent Network of UTS and member of the National Council of Pharmacy Guild of Australia (1990 - 2005).
