Leading thinkers in natural medicines meet for two day conference

The Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sydney is a participating sponsor of the 'Mechanism-Based Natural Product Development Conference' being held on the 21st and 22nd of September at Whistler Mountain Convention Centre BC, Canada.
Professor Basil Roufogalis, from the Faculty of Pharmacy is the convenor of the event and says: "We are bringing together some of the leading thinkers in the natural medicines and science fields. They will explore the discovery and development of therapeutic natural product medicines from the perspectives of systems biology, clinical and preclinical studies, and quality assurance.
It promises to be an interesting, worthwhile and social event and I look forward to seeing you there."
This conference is a two day in-depth discussion on the discovery and development of therapeutic natural medicines and the new opportunities they present. The Conference will bring together basic and natural product scientists to discuss the research and development of natural medicine therapies. It will explore new directions in natural medicines, and the integration of complementary and orthodox medicines for better health outcomes. Leading thinkers in the natural medicines and biological science fields will explore the discovery and development of therapeutic natural product medicines from the perspectives of systems biology, clinical and preclinical studies, quality assurance and commercialisation.
