The University of Sydney has recently awarded a prestigious Thompson Fellowship to Associate Professor Alaina Ammit. The Fellowships aim to promote and enhance the careers of academic women.
Mr. Gerard Stevens, Managing Director of Webstercare, and Chair of the Dean's Community Pharmacy Reference Group at the Faculty of Pharmacy, has recently been acknowledged both nationally and internationally for his contributions to the pharmacy profession
Professor Chan, Professor in Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, together with Dr Runyu Y Yang from the University of New South Wales, have recently been successful in attracting a ARC Discovery Grant to further their research project on powder aerosol inhalers.
Dr Mary Bebawy, A/Prof Mary Collins and Dr Ingrid Gelissen of the Faculty of Pharmacy have been successful as Chief Investigators in the recent NHMRC Project grant round. Professor Joanne Brien and Dr Thomas Grewal were also successful as collaborators on grants lead by other researchers.
The Faculty of Pharmacy celebrated it's 10th Anniversary and officially launched its newly named Faculty of Pharmacy Foundation with a formal dinner in MacLaurin Hall last Thursday, 7 October.

Professor Kelvin Chan has recently been appointed to the position of Joint Chair in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Faculty of Pharmacy. This is a joint appointment between the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney. The position is funded by the NSW Office of Science and Medical Research, (OSMR).
