Australia-India Council grants (DFAT)

These grants enable individuals and organisations in Australia to start projects that are likely to promote long-term contact and collaboration between Australia and India. The aim is to provide seed funds for innovative proposals relevant to the mission and goals of the council.

Priority is given to activities in the following areas:
  • the arts, including literature and film;
  • education;
  • social initiatives, including public health and sport;
  • science, technology and the environment;
  • public policy activities, including media links

Amount: Grants are normally worth up to AU$20,000 but larger sums may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
