Gates Foundation vaccine innovation award

This award recognises individuals or groups of individuals who have achieved significant improvements in the prevention, control or elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases through immunisation or policy.

Nominees will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • developing country impact – nominees should have contributed to the prevention, control or elimination of vaccine-preventable disease through significant improvements in immunisation quality and coverage among mothers and children in developing countries;
  • innovation and creativity – nominees should have applied imaginative and pioneering approaches to overcome difficult challenges to immunising children and achieving impact;
  • scale – nominees’ innovations should be at scale or scalable within the nominee’s country and around the world.

Amount: US$250,000.
