Funding available for international projects

23 June 2011

Online applications are now being accepted for the International Program Development Fund (IPDF), the University's primary source of funding for international initiatives.

The IPDF is managed by the International portfolio and provides funding to University of Sydney academics to support initiatives in internationalisation. The aim is to foster international partnerships in research, teaching and learning, capacity building and other areas with high profile partners in priority areas.

The on-line application can be accessed from the IPDF webpage. Applicants can also download a help sheet, and the online application form has help buttons providing further information.

There are no restrictions on project areas, and one of the aims of the IPDF is to encourage as broad a range of collaborative projects as possible. It encourages multilateral projects that partner with more than one institution and applications that incorporate a research mobility component for early career researchers and postdoctoral fellows.

Last year the IPDF allocated half a million dollars in catalytic funding for University of Sydney researchers to help international collaboration. Grants of up to $12,000 are available on a competitive basis for high quality international research collaborations that clearly demonstrate academic quality and impact, relevance, sustainability, and innovation. These grants must be matched by the faculty.

The deadline for submitting applications is 19 August.
