Apply now: Gates Foundation Grand Challenges
13 March 2012
Round 9 of the Gates Foundation Grand Challenges has been announced.
The Foundation is looking for proposals from across the research and development spectrum of global health and development: from early-stage drug discovery and research in agriculture, to the downstream stages of how to deliver vaccines and new ways to tell stories about global aid.
The grant program is open to all disciplines and anyone can apply. The initiative uses an agile, accelerated grant-making process with short two-page applications and no preliminary data required. Applications are submitted online, and winning grants are chosen approximately 4 months from the submission deadline.
Initial grants of $100,000 are awarded two times a year. Successful projects have the opportunity to receive a follow-on grant of up to $1 million.
