A group of students and staff were lucky enough to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at an official welcome reception in April.

The group (pictured above) from the Sydney Medical School's Hoc Mai Australia Vietnam Medical Foundation, attended the reception at the Sydney Opera House at the invitation of Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir.

"It was such an honour to be invited, and certainly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Dr Aimee Wiseman, a medical intern at Sydney Medical School.

"Not only did I have the opportunity to be personally introduced to His Royal Highness Prince William but also to meet representatives from charities, NGOs, olympians and service men and women from throughout NSW," she said.

"All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon, with a chance to experience all the pomp and ceremony of the British Monarch amidst Sydney's spectacular harbourside location."
