I am very pleased to let you know that last night, Senate announced the appointment of Belinda Hutchinson AM as our new Chancellor.

An advocate for the critical role of world-class tertiary education and research in securing our economic and social future, Ms Hutchinson is a company director with a distinguished career in business and a commitment to deepening the culture of philanthropy. She is an alumna of the University, holding a Bachelor of Economics, and last year received a University Alumni Award for professional achievement.

Ms Hutchinson is currently Chairman of QBE Insurance Group, a director of St Vincent's Health Australia, AGL Energy, the Salvation Army Eastern Territory Advisory Board, Australian Philanthropic Services, NSW State Library Foundation, and a member of the Federal Government Financial Services Advisory Council. She is also the President of Chief Executive Women, a member-based organisation comprising 240 of Australia's women leaders.
