Building emergency procedures

All schools and administrative units need to comply with the new Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures. Section 12 of the WHS procedures addresses emergency planning.

If you are a head of school or administrative unit you need to appoint staff to emergency roles (eg. chief wardens, emergency wardens, first aid officers), include emergency preparedness in your WHS action plan and make sure that your workers are familiar with the procedures for plausible emergencies, eg. fire, medical emergencies, chemical spills.
