Changes to University mobile device billing

If you have a mobile device provided by the University you may be aware that in the coming months the University will be changing the way it provides and bills for mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets with SIM cards (eg iPads) and mobile modems.
To ensure we have an accurate record of the University's mobile devices, you may receive an email or SMS from Stratatel, the University's mobile telecommunications managed service provider, in the next few weeks asking you to update your details. If you receive a message, please check and update your information, adding details of other University provided mobile devices that are not currently associated with your account.
Please note that if you do not check and update your information by Wednesday 23 October 2013, Stratatel may assume that your account is inactive and your mobile device(s) may be marked for deactivation.
New billing process for mobile devices
Once our records have been updated, you will start to receive details of your monthly mobile device usage from Stratatel. These monthly statements will also be provided to your faculty, portfolio or unit manager, who will also receive statements for the period from January to September 2013.
From 1 January 2014 your faculty, portfolio or PSU will then be directly billed for your actual mobile device use, based on how much data you use and how many calls you make. Under the new system, your faculty, portfolio or PSU will be directly responsible for meeting these costs, rather than charged an averaged amount based on total University spend (as is currently the case).
