From the Vice-Chancellor and NTEU Branch President: support the proposed Enterprise Agreement

13 November 2013

Now that the University and the NTEU have agreed the terms of our proposed Enterprise Agreement, we are pleased to be jointly writing to you to encourage you to support it in this week's staff ballot.

This round of enterprise bargaining has at times been difficult for the whole University community, and there have been points of difference and disagreement. We are, however, grateful to you for your patience, and we agree that we have now arrived at an excellent deal for staff.

Before the proposal can be implemented, it must be approved in a staff vote. You will receive an email later today from the HR Service Centre containing instructions about how you can participate in the ballot that opens today. You will have until 5pm this Friday 15 November to cast your vote.

To find out more about the ballot and the proposed agreement, please refer to the earlier email from the Acting Director, Human Resources, or visit the University's Enterprise Agreement website or the NTEU website. If you have any questions please contact your HR adviser.

This is your opportunity to let us know if you approve of the new agreement. We encourage you to support it.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Spence
Vice-Chancellor and Principal
The University of Sydney

Michael Thomson
University of Sydney Branch President, NTEU
