Student Support Services aim to assist students' achievement of educational goals, retention and success at University through personal, financial and instrumental support, and through encouraging development of independence and personal resilience.

How to assist a student in distress

Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides support for students in immediate distress. CAPS has also developed new, exciting e-books to help students build on their strengths, improve wellbeing and achieve academic success. They also provide one-on-one counselling sessions and a range of 'skillshops'.

How to help a student find accommodation

The Accommodation Information Service has worked closely with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to develop a new database for students looking for accommodation while they are studying. One of the key features of the new database is that providers are now able to register and submit their properties online themselves. The service also engages with the University community regarding accommodation issues for students.
