Your health and safety

27 October 2011

The University is introducing a network of health and safety representatives (HSRs) to help promote health and safety at work.

All workers will soon have the opportunity to become or choose the HSR for their workgroup. These HSRs will collaborate with local safety personnel and occupational health and safety (OHS) advisers - replacing 'Zone OHS committees' from 1 January 2012.

The introduction of HSRs coincides with the commencement of new national work health and safety (WHS) legislation which promotes HSRs as a means of promoting health and safety work. Further details about introducing HSRs and the new legislation will be published in coming weeks. For further information visit the OHS website.
